On Thursdays during the month of September 2023, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) sponsored the 2023 New Jersey Safe Routes to School Academy. Featuring four panel sessions over the course of the month, the free, virtual Academy celebrated New Jersey’s expanding and engaging programs with Safe Routes to School throughout the State.
The Academy covered a range of topics, including possibilities and potential for partnering with High Schools for Safe Routes to School programming, how to inform safety plans and street designs to improve conditions for walking and bicycling, NJ SRTS Infrastructure Grant Program information, and School Zone safety strategies.
