The New Jersey Department of Transportation, the NJ Safe Routes Resource Center, and the eight Transportation Management Associations (TMAs) in NJ are pleased to announce the 2021 School recipients and 2021 Municipal recipients of the NJ Safe Routes Recognition Program! These winners are recognized for their commitment and support of the Safe Routes program by enabling and encouraging walking and bicycling in their communities. For a list of all current NJ SRTS winners, click here.

Winners for 2021 are honored for their hard work and commitment to the Safe Routes program. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, winners worked diligently to offer and expand walk and bike events and programs to their communities. Recognition is valid for three years. Schools and municipalities that have earned NJ Safe Routes Recognition and are also enrolled in the Sustainable Jersey certification program can earn points for both programs.
