If you live or work in Somerset County, RideWise is your Transportation Management Association (TMA). RideWise offers a variety of programs centered on environmentally friendly transportation and connecting partners with the smartest and most sustainable ways to navigate Somerset County. RideWise works with schools throughout Somerset County to help them implement their own Safe Routes to School programs by offering assistance with a variety of programs including Walk and Bike to School Days, Walking School Buses, Bike Trains, Safety Town courses, walkability and bikability audits, and mapping and traffic studies.

To encourage walking and bicycling this May, RideWise is holding a Walk & Bike to School Challenge.  The challenge provides a fun opportunity for families in Somerset County to get outside, log their miles, and enter for a chance to win a Safety Prize Package! The Walk & Bike to School Challenge is open to all students in Somerset County whether their schools are operating in-person or remotely.  For students whose schools are operating remotely, RideWise encourages taking a walk or bike ride through their neighborhood or to a local park.  Whether you are walking or biking to school or throughout your neighborhood, you can participate by keeping track of the miles you walk and bike and logging them online on RideWise’s Walk & Bike to School Challenge page.  The Challenge is open to individuals but also offers an opportunity for students to work together to see how many miles they can accomplish as a class or entire school.  The Challenge is open the entire month of May, so RideWise is encouraging students to be sure to log every trip they take and share their progress with their friends.
